PT Month Inspired Traveler, Mithushielah Romero

PT Month isn’t over! We’d like to introduce you to our next Inspired Traveler and MAS Physical Therapist, Mitch! Find out how this ‘mompreneur’ manages work/life success, her most favorite destinations, advice for traveling with a family, memorable moments, and more!

How long have you been working with MAS?

I had 2 contracts with MAS, both in the state of Vermont. I only have an emergency license here but it was the perfect opportunity for a change of setting and scenery. The facility allows me to truly do my job, bring healing and hope to the community I serve, and still be a ‘mompreneur’ in my free time.

How has MAS Medical Staffing helped shape your career?

My recruiter, Matt, is very responsive to my issues before and during the entire time here and I can tell he worked hard to place me in this position and will be forever grateful.

What do you like about working with your recruiter?

Matt makes it easy for me to navigate my relationship with my facility and also frees up my time to do what is important by doing the messy follow up of paperwork especially when I was waiting for my licensing to come out.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I have a 5 year old daughter and I am a single parent so most of my free time is spent with her and exploring our new world here in the VT/NH/NY area. I also like to do some cooking and love to read. Meditation is my main form of relaxation.

Where has been your favorite place to travel?

Iceland tops the list and now VT as it looks and feels like Switzerland, which also happens to be on my bucket list.

Have any memorable stories to share so far?

I have met some healers now in a very small area and they are not all in healthcare. It is like a coming out party of sorts for energy healers gravitating to rural areas like this, as the calm/peace/serenity brings something that the fast pace life in the city doesn’t.

What is your best advice to fellow PTs traveling with a family?

If you are a single mom like me, find 2 good daycares and find a facility that would be flexible. Be willing to live outside of your comfort zone. You would be surprised at the amount of growth you find in yourself once you start to trust the process.
