Personal Support Specialist (PSS)
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Administers patient’s personal hygiene regimen including, showers/baths, skin care, oral hygiene, dressing.
  • Transfers clients/resident
  • Able to use client equipment such as mechanical lifts, transfer belts, slide boards
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to read and write
  • Able to follow client/resident care plans
  • Completes all housekeeping tasks such as cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, laundry, dusting, vacuuming, dusting, dishes etc.
  • Preparing of meals
  • Cueing for medications
  • Administering oxygen
  • Testing of blood sugar levels
  • Accompany clients to appointments
  • Accompany client to grocery store/pharmacy or other errands
  • Independently going to grocery store or pharmacy or laundry mat for clients
  • Reports all changes in client’s health and behaviors to supervisor immediately.
  • Displays an understanding of each patient’s cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturity in assessment’s, treatment and care undertaken.
  • Provides a safe environment for patient by maintaining patient rooms, utility rooms and storage areas in a neat, clean, orderly manner.
  • Interacts with all clients, families, visitors and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure positive and professional environment.
  • Acts as a team player
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times while at work
  • Able to multi task
  • Assists others when needed
  • Participates in client specific trainings
  • Attends and participates in all MAS required trainings.
  • Any other duties deemed applicable

Certified Registered Medication Aid (CRMA)
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Follows all policies that the facilities have in place to administer and document medications appropriately
  • Administer client’s medications with the appropriate time lines
  • Documents in each clients MAR book
  • Reports all changes in client’s health and behaviors to Charge Nurse immediately.
  • Must follow each clients care plan as stated in their log book
  • Displays an understanding of each client cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturity in assessments, Care Plan, and care undertaken
  • Provides a safe environment for clients and other co workers
  • Documents in each clients daily log book
  • Adheres to MAS Home Care safety requirements and procedures
  • Enforcing all safety rules specific to the setting working to ensure a clean, hazard-free environment
  • Ability to work at various worksites/facilities
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to document accurate events
  • Must be able to provide legible documentation
  • Interacts with all clients, families, visitors and fellow co workers in a mature, responsible manner to ensure a positive and professional environment
  • Act as a positive role model for the persons served
  • Support and encourage increased levels of achievement to individual’s potential
  • Follows all safety plans for each client
  • Follows all the policies and procedures of the facilities
  • MUST keep your CRMA certificate up to date at all times
  • Attends and participates in all applicable MAS mandatory trainings or meetings

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Administers patient’s personal hygiene regimen, including but not limited to, showers/baths, skin care, oral hygiene as indicated by the nurse.
  • Answers call lights for both assigned and unassigned patients.
  • Makes beds for both assigned and unassigned patients.
  • Other housekeeping duties as needed
  • Empties bed pans
  • Assists with all personal care aspects of a residents care.
  • Record findings and alerts nurse to changes from patients’ vital signs, height/weight, intake/outtake, urine/stool specimen, simple dressings, bowel/bladder training.
  • Displays an understanding of each patient’s cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological maturity in assessment’s, treatment and care undertaken.
  • Provides a safe environment for patients, family and personnel; follow established hospital/departmental safety requirements
  • Interacts with all patients, family, visitors and fellow employees in a mature, responsible manner to ensure positive and professional environment.
  • Must act as a team player
  • Documents in a detailed manner
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Able to operate equipment utilized for patient/resident care
  • Feeding of patients/residents
  • Interacts with facility staff, patients/residents and visitors in a positive professional manner
  • Dresses in a professional manner
  • Able to multi task
  • Participates in facility specific trainings and orientations
  • Attends and participates in all MAS required trainings
  • Assists other staff when needed
  • Must be able to follow direction
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Any other duties deemed applicable

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Requirements:

  • Current license in state of Maine
  • Home care experience a plus
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Exceptional communication skills including a sense of urgency and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Windows, Outlook and report writing
